If we chose to go by tweets and tabloids, then R&B singer, R. Kelly was allegedly beaten up at a club in Gulfport.
However, the police and the club management are refuting those claims. The club owner on the other hand claims that R. Kelly was billed to perform on Saturday at Illusions night club and that the whole event cost about him about $50,000 and he paid Kelly $26,000 only for him not to perform.
According to a news website, Officers patrolling the area during the event were alerted to a disturbance around 3:46 a.m. Sunday, and they attempted to enter the club at the rear entrance, but the doors were locked.
While they entered the club through the front, security personnel opened the back door and a man involved in a fight exited and left in a vehicle. Neither of the parties wanted to file a report so the officers didn't take any action.
Meanwhile, the owner of, George Bush, (not the former president) took to the club's Facebook page to explain the situation.
R. Kelly never got touched; nobody jumped on R. Kelly. Everything he asked for in the rider was provided to him that we could obtain through the state of Mississippi except a bottle of Amaretto Ciroc, and when I go in there, they're leaving and one of his security guys pushed my security guy down the steps, and that's when he pushed them back and that's when the altercation started.
Bush also posted an iPhone screenshot of a conversation between the club's promoter and a member of Kelly's management of the two continuing to negotiate payment. He said the whole event cost around $50,000 and he paid Kelly $26,000.
It's almost like they came here, they took my money because they figured I was small-time and I wouldn't do nothing. My job is to try to bring the tourist dollars here, not to have people looking at us as a negative site.
