How Buhari Can Shock Nigeria To Win 2015 Presidential Election

It's obvious that next year's presidential elections will go down between President Goodluck Jonathan and APC's presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari.

Buhari vs Jonathan, 2015 presidential elections in Nigeria

It will be a fierce battle as APC are growing increasingly confident that they can win it while PDP continues to believe in their supremacy and power of 'incumbency' so, who will come out on top.
Writing this from a neutral point of view, here is what I think..

President Jonathan had the full backing of Former President Olusegun 'Baba' Obasanjo during his campaign to become Nigeria's Vice President to Late President Y'ar Adua.

The 'Baba' effect was so obvious that Jonathan went into the election with full confidence.
Even after Jonathan was elected as Vice President in 2007, his relationship with Baba was still intact that they always attended major events together.

Fast-forward to the present, the reverse is the case. Their relationship has been strained up to a point where they recently had a media-spat.

Obasanjo is deeply unhappy with President Jonathan for reasons best known to them.

Jonathan, realizing that he's presently Nigeria's number one citizen, has refused to shift grounds, instead, he's ready for whatever Baba comes up with.

Obasanjo believes he plays a major part in Nigeria's political system even though he's not very active politically.

He (Obasanjo) has built this intimidating and influential personality that even an average Nigerian understands the major role he plays in the country's political decisions.

Now that Jonathan has lost Baba on his side, is there a great chance of him retaining his seat as Nigeria's president come 2015?

No wonder PDP governors allegedly prostrated to Obasanjo in an attempt to calm him down (if at all it's true) of which he replied, "Don't beg me, go and beg your Oga who sent you."

Also, there are new rumours about Obasanjo wanting to defect from PDP to APC. So, is that the reason why he's been politically inactive in recent years?

Defecting to APC means he would openly declare himself an anti-Jonathan which would give Buhari an edge to clinch next years election.

Whatever the case maybe, the elections is nearby and we can't wait to watch these two elephants slug it out.

See you in 2015.
