President Jonathan Campaign Vehicles Burnt As 2000 APC Members Decamp To PDP In Niger
Supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Sunday, January 25, 2015 attacked and set ablaze two campaign vehicles belonging to President Goodluck Jonathan in the Suleja area of the Niger State.
The attack came after about 2,000 members of the APC decamped to the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during the campaign of PDP Governorship candidate Umar Nasko.
The attack took place after campaign train, which included the Governor of Niger State, Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu, had left the town for Gurara Local Government Area.
The Nigerian military promptly intervened preventing the escalation of the situation and soldiers have condoned off the street in which the incident happened.
The campaign vehicles were burnt to ashes but no life was lost.
