A Cameroonian online newspaper has reported an attack by terrorist group, Boko Haram in northern Cameroon.
The insurgents attacked a minibus conveying 16 passengers from including eight women, from Waza to Mora in Cameroon on Thursday night.
The passengers were leaving Mora to attend the celebrations of Eid el Maulud (Birth of Prophet Muhammed).
The attack occured some 40km from Mora, which is a border town between Nigeria and Cameroon. The town has been attacked regularly by members of Boko Haram, causing both civilian and military deaths, almost on a daily basis.
Some of its residents have also been taken into captive by the terrorist group. According to reports, the insurgents slashed the throats of 11 occupants of the bus and injured some of the women.
One of the victims reportedly managed to alert the police using his mobile telephone. Reports also indicated that the recent attack was a reprisal of the killings of some members of the group by the Cameroonian military in recent weeks.
A Cameroonian investigative journalist, Bisong Etahoben, who confirmed the attack, wrote on Twitter that some passengers were still missing. At the final casualty count of attack, 11 (persons) were killed, with their throats slashed while six were hospitalized in Mora with serious injuries.
